很少有地表 世界的居民知道并且明了伊莉丝翠教会的存在与教义。许多地表世界的非精灵种族都不愿相信有关任何「重返地表的善良黑暗精灵」的传闻,将这些传闻驳为道听涂 说,或视为邪恶黑暗精灵所编造的谣言-只因他们不知道有这么一位女神在暗中看护这些独特的子民。然而,大多数的精灵虽然知道谣言背后的真相,却都蓄意忽视这些亲族的存在不愿多谈-它们都无法忘怀那段古老的历史:惨烈的皇冠战争(Crown War,历时数千年的精灵内战)正是由恣意沉溺于邪恶的古代黑暗精灵所挑起的。职是之故,只有那些与幽暗少女拥有相似理念以及活动区域的团体会认同这些信徒。值得一提的是,近年来竖琴手同盟(the Harpers)已开始暗中支持幽暗少女教会的发展,助其将信念推广到费伦大陆的所有角落。
幽暗少女的牧师在每天晚上月亮升起之后,唱歌(假如情况许可)祈祷以获得神术。教会内有数种不同的仪式-狩猎与随之而来的盛宴、舞蹈(穿着的衣物尽可能越少越好)、以及「歌唱之环」(Circle Song)。信徒们偏好在沐浴于月光下的林间空地排成「歌唱之环」,在仪式中围著作成一圈并轮流下场起舞(每位信徒都要带完一首曲子)。此外,伊莉丝翠的 信徒也会在一天结束之后的晚祷中向女神倾诉这一整天的心情与感想(由于涉及个人隐私,因此他们通常是私下无声的祷告)。幽暗少女也要求她的牧师必须(在财力许可时)付钱给他们碰上的乐手与吟游诗人,请对方高歌一曲;一般的信徒便无强制要求此点,但也被鼓励这么作。
伊莉丝翠的教会也遵行几项 特殊的祭仪。「剑之舞」(the Sword Dance)这种仪式是将自己的一些血洒在剑上,请幽暗少女眷顾该武器,因而在往后的三个月内都不会断折或锈蚀。「崇高狩猎」(the High Hunt)每一季至少举行一次,是由牧师带领信徒,在夜间追猎一只危险的野兽或怪物。在教会的传统中,一般信徒允许携带任何有锋刃的武器与穿戴护甲,但牧 师们就必须一丝不挂,且只能随身携带一把剑。如果成功杀死目标,所有参与者便会齐聚高声祈祷,然后排成「歌唱之环」赞颂女神。「奔驰」(Run)则是伊莉丝翠牧师特有的仪式。在仪式中非黑暗精灵的牧师会用天然的染料或油脂涂黑自己的身体,且所有牧师也都会用特殊的树叶与浆果将自己的头发染成发亮的银色,然 后在地表世界中四处漫游,凭借着自己的音乐技巧、仁慈行为、以及自卫用的剑技(避免其它陌生人一见到她们就立刻展开攻击)闯荡。她们会造访其它陌生的地区,寻找隐密的精灵社群,为亲族带去各种游戏与救助。她们也努力地学习新的歌曲、音乐、以及剑术,而不是进行公开宣传教义这类暴露自己行踪的行为。
最后,未死于战斗而得享天年的牧师也有专属的仪式-「最终之舞」(the Last Dance)。当其寿命届至时,年老的牧师会在夜间听见伊莉丝翠的歌声,召唤她们前往女神的国度。此时,该位牧师便会褪去自己所有衣物,在月光照耀的夜空下起舞-之后就会从人间消失。据那些曾经见过这种仪式的信徒说,当牧师开始起舞之后,女神就会随着歌声出现在空中,而该位年老牧师的舞姿将越来越显的轻盈 流畅,外表也逐渐恢复年轻。不久之后,牧师的头发将闪耀着与幽暗少女一样的光辉,然后慢慢的变为透明,最后只剩下闪耀的银光,以及两股声音-女神与她的牧师-一起合唱温婉忧伤的歌曲。

历史/与众神的关系 History/Relationship:
伊莉丝翠是科瑞隆˙拉瑞 辛(Corellon Larethian)与艾罗希涅(Araushnee,即来的罗丝)的女儿,也是维伦(Vhaeraun,黑暗精灵的窃盗之神)的妹妹,由于她无意间参与了艾罗希涅对精灵众神发动的叛乱,因此与母亲及兄长一起被放逐。虽然父亲赦免她的无心之过,但伊莉丝翠仍坚持自己亦须被放逐-因为她预见了这些黑暗精灵将 需要一座能指引他们重返善良的灯塔。她的盟友包括精灵众神、蜜丝特拉(Mystra)、苏伦(Selune)、以及所有幽暗地域善良种族的守护神祇;她的敌人则包括了所有幽暗地域的邪恶神祇-尤其是其它黑暗精灵众神。

牧师与神殿 Clergy & Temples:

幽暗少女的牧师皆蓄长发,通常视情况而穿着不同 的服饰。她们在教会的仪式中会尽可能地不着任何衣物,其它时候则各有不同-在狩猎时穿着轻便的皮甲,烹饪时穿着围裙、以及在战斗时(罕见地)穿上盔甲。她 \们偏好在平常时穿着银色的透明长袍。他们大多喜欢佩戴银制圣徽,通常是当成别在胸前,或是用细长的银制(或秘银制)项链挂在脖子上。

The white fog is settling low on the ground between the trees; the browning leaves are moist with morning dew. The late autumn air is still—quiet and unmoving—and chilling to the bone. But the faint reddish hue growing in the eastern sky makes promise that this will soon change. It is unlikely though that you’ll be able to see it, for your destination lies just across the clearing.
At first glance the structure looks rather unremarkable. The square, gray blocks of stone making up the bulk of the rectangular shape are covered in yellow-green lichen. The number of balconies facing the rising sun is balanced by an even number opposite. And the dark wooden roof is nearly hidden behind the three-step wall. Yet upon closer scrutiny there seems to be a faint magic to it. A pale glow, like moonlight over a deep lake, is scarcely noticeable against the brightening sky. The two obsidian statues depicting dancing, female elves and standing to flank the large double doors seem strangely ethereal and yet, somehow, almost alive.

Approaching the entry across the wet grass you notice a shadow of movement and a glimmer of red eyes at one of the unlit windows. They know you are here. This is proven even more when the doors creak open as you near. In the opening stands a comely woman—a child really—short of stature, crowned in long, white hair and possessed of the elegance of her elven ancestors. But unlike the fair folk her skin is blacker than a starless night, marking her a drow. With a ready smile on her dark lips and a joyful sparkle in her red eyes she greets you. “Welcome,” she says in a voice sweet as evening dew, “welcome to the Chosen of Eilistraee.”

Eilistraee (eel-iss-tray-yee) is the daity of good drow and those of that race who wish to be able to live on the surface in peace. A melancholy, moody deity, she is a lover of beauty and peace, but is not averse to striking back against those that would harm her followers. The evil of most drow causes a great anger to burn within her.

  The church of Eilistraee encourages Drow to return to the surface world and work to promote harmony between the drow and surface races so that drow again become rightful and nonevil inhabitants of Faer鹡. Members of the church nurture beauty, craft musical instruments, sing, and assist others in need. Clerics must be able to sing adequately, dance gracefully, play the horn, flute or harp. Skill at swordsplay is also encouraged, as the ability to hunt.

  Clerics of the Dark Maiden pray for spells at night, after moonrise. Their rituals revolve around a hunt followed by a feast and dancing (wearing as little clothing as possible). Four times a year they have a High Hunt, during which they hunt a dangerous beast while wearing nothing and carrying only a single sword. Once a year they perform a Run, when they seek out unfamiliar elven communities in order to show them kindness and bring them game and assistance, thus fostering acceptace of the Drow in doing so. Eilistraee's clerics often multiclass as fighters, bards or rangers.
  
  History/relationships : The daughter of Corellon Larethian and Arushnee (who became Lolth), Eilistraee was banished along with the other drow deities for her (inadvertent) part in the war against the Seldarine (the elven pantheon). She insisted upon this punishment, which was dealt reluctantly by her father, because she foresaw that the dark elves would need a beacon of good within their reach. Her allies are the Seldarine, the good deities of the Underdark races, Mystra, and Sel鹡e; her enemies are the evil deities of Underdark, especially the rest of the Drow pantheon.

  Dogma : Be always kind, save in the battle with evil. Encourage happiness everywhere. Learn and teach new songs, dances, and the flowing dance of skilled swordwork. Promote harmony between the races. Befriend strangers, shelter those without homes, and feed the hungry. Repay rudeness with kindness. Repay violence with swift violence so that those that cause it are swiftly dealt with. Aid drow in distress, and give them the Lady's message: "A rightful place awaits you in the Realms above, in the land of the Great Light. Come in peace and live beneath the sun again where trees and flowers grow

  伊莉丝翠的信仰在诸国度中以其舞蹈及歌唱的技艺、在月光闪耀之下狩猎、以及各种优雅的剑法而闻名。但外人常忽略了幽暗少女信仰中的一项要素,那就是拯救幽暗地域中的卓尔们。虽然罗丝、维伦、以及其它卓尔神祇的信徒们十分仇视憎恶伊莉丝翠的神职人员,但幽暗少女却教导自己的子民不要去仇恨那些住在地底的表亲们,反而应该怜悯对方,而且碰上对方时应向其施予怜悯及庇护。

  有一派信徒将此教义发扬光大,这就是银发骑士,他们是无私且慈悲的祭司,致力于找出邪恶的卓尔,并使用对方的罪愆当作武器,希望能让对方了解自己过去种种行径的错误所在。大多数的银发骑士在与这些卓尔作战时都会选择只造成非致命伤害,向对方展现仁慈(无论对方是否愿意接受)。而最强力的银发骑士甚至可以从对方的体内将其罪孽抽出,再用自己的信仰力量将之吸收。这是一项十分危险的举动,但成效也不容忽视。只要能忍受由目标身上抽出的深刻绝望及罪孽,银发骑士可以成为整个卓尔种族的拯救者。


银发骑士 Silverhair Knight

  银发骑士(也被称为「食罪人」)们受过训练,专门帮助那些来到费伦地表的卓尔转化信仰,并提供后续的庇护。银发骑士们最常出现在卓尔们试图建立据点的地表区域,在目前,这个成立未久组织的大多数成员都集中在科曼索森林。银发骑士都尽可能的避免杀害卓尔,她们对此的理念是,如果其它卓尔能了解到银发骑士并不提倡杀害「敌人」,那么对方就比较不会害怕背离罗丝的教导及自己的地底同族。只有当某位卓尔的死亡可以拯救大多数生命时,银发骑士才被允许痛下杀手,但即便如此,她之后也必须立刻为自己的可怕行为寻求赎罪。

  银发骑士大多都是牧师兼职战士、游侠、吟游诗人、甚或是野蛮人,这些组合最能轻易达成进阶要求。虽然大多数的银发骑士都是女性的卓尔或半卓尔,不过无论性别为何,而只要是能符合进阶要求的伊莉丝翠信徒,都被欢迎加入该组织。当银发骑士发现某处卓尔的营地时,她们应当潜藏并观察对方一段时间,在远处了解对方的行事风格及个性,以此判断该团体中的哪些成员可能会希望接受转化。然后她应当渗入对方的团体,接触可能转化的目标,并与对方一齐逃往安全之处。

  银发骑士大多居住在偏僻的地区,避开城市或其它大型的聚居地-除非是引导某位自新的卓尔前往城中的庇护所,因此非玩家角色的银发骑士通常都只会在荒野中出现,尤其是在卓尔活动频繁的地区。

  自第一级起,银发骑士每升二级,其每日神术法术数量会上升,就像之前的神术施法职业一样,但不能获得之前神术施法职业等级的其它能力(比如增进操控或斥喝不死生物的能力)。若该人物在成为银发骑士之前拥有多个神术施法职业,则必须选择要将此升级的银发骑士等级加在哪一种施法职业上,以决定新的每日神术法术数量。

唤起罪恶感 Awaken Sins [超自然能力]:
  第一级起,每天一次,银发骑士可施展一次「唤起罪恶感」,此乃超自然能力。第三级起,每日可施展二次。第五级起,每日可施展三次。

  卓尔特别容易受此能力影响,因此当抵抗此效果时豁免检定承受-2减值。

慈悲剑刃 Merciful Edge [特异能力]:
  当银发骑士手持已选择「武器专攻」专长的剑类武器进行攻击时,她可以选择造成非致命伤害,且其攻击检定不需承受-4减值。

怜悯之剑 Blade of Compassion [特异能力]:
  第二级起,当银发骑士手持已选择「武器专攻」专长的剑类武器攻击敌人时,若她选择造成非致命伤害时,她可以攻击对方的重要部位以造成额外的非致命伤害。此外,若银发骑士拥有偷袭能力,她可以用已选择「武器专攻」专长的剑类武器在偷袭中造成非致命伤害,且可与「怜悯之剑」造成的非致命伤害迭加(在正常情况下,造成致命伤害的武器不可用来进行非致命偷袭)。使用本职业能力需要高度集中心神,因此银发骑士使用本能力时副手不可持有武器、也不可使用盾牌;若该武器为双手武器,她可双手并用以使用本能力。此能力的发动条件与盗贼的偷袭能力相同,且只对会受到非致命伤害的生物有效。

平静之声 Voice of Serenity [超自然能力]:
  第三级起,银发骑士的嗓音将会奇妙的变成值得信赖且友善的欢快旋律,可以抚平与她对话之人心中的猜忌与怀疑。她的唬弄及交涉检定将获得+2圣力加值。此外,当她施展具有言语成分的附魔系法术时,其豁免难度亦有+1圣力加值。

吞噬罪孽 Consume Sins [超自然能力]:
  第五级起,银发骑士可以透过一项神秘的仪式,设法将邪恶精类、巨人、人型生物、人型怪物的阵营转化为绝对中立。银发骑士必须在仪式中与目标保持肉体接触,时间为「目标每生命骰一分钟」。目标在仪式中必须保持意识清醒,但是否自愿接受转化则无关紧要。通常银发骑士会将目标紧紧的捆住,不过她也可以藉由唬弄检定(对抗目标的察言观色检定)来掩饰自己行动的真正意图,此时每分钟都必须重新进行一次唬弄检定。当仪式结束时,目标心中的良知将突如其来的被过往的种种罪恶所压垮,因而受到10d6点的非致命伤害;此外,若目标未能通过意志豁免(难度为「10+骑士职业等级+骑士的魅力调整值」),其阵营将被转化为绝对中立。

  然而,若目标通过了意志豁免,除了阵营将维持原状外,他所有的罪孽都将涌入银发骑士的心中,使骑士心里充满愤恨、悲痛、以及绝望-银发骑士将立即获得负向等级,其数值为「目标生命骰的一半+目标的魅力调整值」。若银发骑士的等级因此降至0以下,她将立刻死去,且在24小时内化为幽魂(阵营与之前欲吞噬罪孽的目标相同);若负向等级并不足以杀死银发骑士,则她会陷入昏迷长达24小时,且当苏醒时必须立刻进行强韧豁免,以避免损失等级(负向等级的规则请见《地下城主指南》第293页)。

  当吞噬罪孽失败而获得负向等级时,该些负向等级可以透过「复原术」加以消除,但如此一来将会释放这些「未经消化」的罪孽,使其返回原主人身上,原主人的技能检定、攻击命中、以及意志豁免将在接下来的24小时中获得「每负向等级+1」的亵渎加值。不过,就算距离吞噬罪孽失败时已超过24小时,也仍然可以透过「高等复原术」回复失去的等级,这样一来对于银发骑士及食罪失败的目标就都没有影响。

  如果目标的意志豁免失败,其阵营将转为绝对中立,且那些被银发骑士吸收的罪孽将被骑士心中的纯洁及对伊莉丝翠的坚贞所消灭,骑士的魅力属性将获得+4圣力加值,而且当施展「善良」性质的法术时施法者等级将获得+1圣力加值,持续时间为「目标生命骰的一半+目标的魅力加值」小时。

  当该目标的阵营转变为绝对中立之后,他可以自由选择往后的行动。大多数被转化者都会认识到过往邪恶行径的错误所在,因此不会重蹈覆辙。许多人甚至会出于对银发骑士的感激而转为与银发骑士相同的阵营。

  「吞噬罪孽」是影响心灵的超自然能力,同时也是恐惧效果。银发骑士每周可以使用本能力一次。卓尔特别容易受此能力影响,因此当抵抗此效果时豁免检定承受-2减值。同一个目标必须相隔一年才能再次试图对其使用本能力。


‧前银发骑士:
  若银发骑士在自愿状态下让其它卓尔死亡(无论是直接或间接),她必须在24小时内获得伊莉丝翠牧师施展的「赎罪术」,以忏悔自己的罪行。如果她无法在时限内获得赎罪术、或如果她严重违反了幽暗少女的教义、又或者如果她的阵营变成非混乱善良,那么她都将失去银发骑士职业的特殊能力及施法能力。她可以在之后藉由为执行一项重大任务以换取「赎罪术」,从而得回这些失去的能力(该牧师的等级必须至少与她相同)。

‧银发骑士的法术

  银发骑士使用此一戏剧性且扰乱人心的法术,来向那些邪恶个体(尤其是卓尔)展现其凶恶行径的错误所在。若目标通过意志豁免,则他会因为突然忆起过往那些令人不快或罪恶的回忆而暂时分心,在接下来的一轮中技能检定及攻击命中都承受-1减值。若目标意志检定失败,那么目标在一生中犯下的各种残酷或恶意的行为都会在一瞬间涌上心头,使他体验到过往被其所害之人的痛苦与磨难,因而受到每施法者等级1d6点的非致命伤害(最高10d6点),并震慑一轮。若他因此而失去意识,则还会受到1d6点的睿智属性伤害。

  其它支持食罪人的宗教团体也开始使用这些法术,尤其以伊尔马特的圣武士为最。


伊莉丝翠的恩典 Eilistraee's Grace

  在本法术的持续时间内,你的敏捷属性将获得+2圣力加值,且基本移动速度也将增加10呎。此外,你的碰触攻击或手持武器也都注入了同样的力量-将对抗伤害减免时,它们都将视为善良阵营的武器。

  施展本法术只需一个实时动作,但仍会受到「每轮只能施展一个瞬发法术」的规则限制。


月矢术 Moon Bolt

  你造出一道由闪耀月光凝成的箭矢,自掌中窜向距离内的活物或不死生物。月矢必定会准确无误的击中目标。

  被月矢击中的活物会受到每三个施法者等级1d4的力量伤害(最高5d4),若目标通过强韧检定则伤害减半。

  而被月矢击中的不死生物必须通过意志检定,否则就会立刻倒地,并在1d4轮中陷入无助状态,此外,当它脱离无助状态并重新站起后,其攻击命中与意志豁免在接下来的一分钟内也将承受-2减值。

  若你在夜间于户外施展本法术,那么你还可以再产生一枚月矢,以其攻击同一目标,或是距原先目标15呎内的另一个目标。


月迷术 Moon Lust

  这道法术将让目标心中产生对于月亮的强烈执迷,若目标豁免检定失败,他将一直定睛注视着月亮,在法术生效期间内视为「迷魂」状态(详见《地下城主指南》第300至301页)。

  若目标豁免检定失败,且在法术持续时间内无法见到月亮,那他将不会陷入「迷魂」状态,反而会显得十分焦躁-该生物的攻击命中及技能检定在法术持续时间内都将承受-1减值。

  缺乏视觉的生物不受此法术影响。

在地表定居的最有名的黑暗精灵非崔斯特莫属了.当然他并非是唯一一个离开幽暗地域的黑暗精灵.大多数定居地表的卓尔都是邪恶的,但也有一小部分卓尔并不和幽暗地域的卓尔同属于邪恶阵营.  而他们的大都数信仰伊丽丝翠, 但也有一部分信仰兰斯朗雷瑟Lothlonglathe.

伊丽丝翠与席德瑞恩神系和卓尔神系都保持着联系,她希望能带领黑暗精灵放弃他们的邪恶崇拜,重返地表.虽然卓尔在很久以前就被放逐到黑暗的地下世界,但还是有一小部分卓尔没有崇拜邪恶的神氏,如重返地表.在他们善良的女神神庙周围建立小社区的伊丽丝翠的信仰者. 这些社区总是很小而且大多数都悲哀地短命.卓尔森林(Drow forest)里的萨尔.卡萨克特城(Thal'kathact)和冬石城(Winterstone)倒是两个例外.

主要信仰是罗斯,就如崔斯特所说的,卓尔全族几乎都是罗斯的傀儡, 但仍有少数信仰其他如 伊丽丝翠, 关纳德, Kiaransalee, Selvetarm 和Vhaeraun等神.

在博德之门登场的崔斯特跟维康妮亚都与一般卓尔信仰不同神, 崔斯特信仰森林女神梅丽凯, 而维康妮亚信仰夜神莎儿.

Improved Combat Style (Ex): Drizzt has chosen two-weapon style. He acts as if he has the Two-Weapon Fighting and Improved Two-Weapon Fighting feats when in light or no armor.

Slashing Blades (Ex): Drizzt treats the scimitar as a light weapon rather than a one-handed weapon.

Trapfinding: Drizzt can use the Search skill to locate traps when the task has a DC higher than 20.

Wild Empathy (Ex): Drizzt can use body language, vocalizations, and demeanor to improve the attitude of an animal (such as a bear or a monitor lizard). This ability functions just like a Diplomacy check to improve the attitude of a person. His bonus on the check is +10. The typical domestic animal has a starting attitude of indifferent, while wild animals are usually unfriendly. Drizzt and the animal must study each other for 1 minute. This ability can also be used to influence a magical beast with an Intelligence score of 1 or 2, but he takes a -4 penalty on the check.

Pounce (Ex): If Guenhwyvar charges a foe, she can make a full attack, including two rake attacks.

Devotion (Ex): Guenhwyvar's devotion to her master is so complete that she gains a +4 morale bonus on Will saves against enchantment spells and effects.

Evasion (Ex): If Guenhwyvar is subjected to an attack that normally allows a Reflex saving throw for half damage, she takes no damage if she makes a successful saving throw.

Plane Shift (Su): Guenhwyvar can plane shift upon command of her master as the spell with up to one other being from The House of Nature to her master and back to the House of Nature every other day for a period of 6 hours. Guenhwyvar cannot heal naturally on the Material Plane but heals at double the rate (18 hp/day) when on The House of Nature. If slain, she reverts to her figurine form and automatically plane shifts back to The House of Nature where she begins to heal as if she were stabilized at -9 hp.

Icingdeath : This +2 frost scimitar is made of Solarian Truesteel which gives it a silvery gleam (as well as a +1 to confirm critical). It sheds light as a torch when the temperature drops below 0°F. At such times it cannot be concealed when drawn, nor can its light be shut off. Its wielder is protected from fire; the sword absorbs the first 10 points of fire damage each round that the wielder would otherwise take . Icingdeath extinguishes all nonmagical fires in its area. As a standard action, it can also dispel lasting fire spells , but not instantaneous effects , though you must succeed on a dispel check (1d20 +14) against each spell to dispel it. The DC to dispel such spells is 11+ the caster level of the fire spell.

History: During the middle of the thirteenth century, some defenders of the high forrest banded together to help stem the corruption of the fiends of Hellgate Keep. Andrath, a cleric of Eldath created a scimitar with the help of his goddess for a half-elf ranger/druid of Meilikki name Celina. A fierce defender of the forrest, she (and Andrath) eventually fell to the fiends but not without taking a whole group with them. Part of Celina's soul still powers the intelligence and the hatred against the fiends that defiled her beloved forrest. Sadly, the scimitar stayed unnamed until a little more than a century later, when the famed ranger Drizzt Do'urden named it after the dragon whose lair he found it from.

Bracers of the Blinding Strike : These bracers of armor +6 give the wearer the benefits of the Improved Initiative feat. When making a full attack action, the wearer may make one extra attack with it. The attack uses the wielder's full base attack bonus, plus any modifiers appropriate to the situation. (This benefit is not cumulative with similar effects, such as a haste spell.)

When worn as anklets, it takes the slot of shoes/boots. The wearer gains a +1 dodge bonus to AC and Reflex saves. All of the wearer's modes of land movement increase by 30 feet, to a maximum of twice the wearer's normal speed using that form of movement. However, a character of good alignment and with sufficient strength (at least 19) finds that the maul gains an additional +1 enhancement bonus (for a total enhancement bonus of +4) and deals additional +1d4 points of bonus damage on any hit. It also gains the ability to be hurled with a 30-foot range increment. It returns to its thrower on the round after it was thrown or when called and is then ready to be wielded or thrown again:

Drizzt agreed with the explanation, aware of the power of the curse of a king when his homeland has fallen.

Reverently, Bruenor lifted Garumn's remains and bore them into a side chamber. Drizzt did not follow, allowing the dwarf his privacy in this moment. Drizzt returned to Catti-brie and Wulfgar to help them comprehend the importance of the scene around them.

They waited patiently for many minutes, imagining the course of the epic battle that had taken place and their minds hearing clearly the sounds of axe on shield, and the brave war cries of Clan Battlehammer.

Then Bruenor returned arid even the mighty images the friends' minds had concocted fell short of the sight before them. Regis dropped the few baubles he had found in utter amazement, and in fear that a ghost from the past had returned to thwart him.

Cast aside was Bruenor's battered shield. The dented and one-horned helm was strapped on his backpack. He wore the armor of his namesake, shining mithril, the mug standard on the shield of solid gold, and the helm ringed with a thousand glittering gemstones. Personality: Taken from Dantrag Baenre, a drow battle master, Khazid'hea has little personality of which to speak. The blade longs for little more than the chaos of battle and the blood of foes, and it constantly eggs its wielder into battle and is jealous of any kill for which it is not responsible. However, the blade makes little distinction between friend and foe and is likely to demand its wielder battle allies when all enemies have fallen. The blade grants its wielder the benefits of rage only if the wielder agrees to kill all "foes" or the blade is dominant. If Khazid'hea is dominated by its wielder, it alter its pommel to better suit the aesthetic tastes of its new master.

"Anariel, Sister of Faerun," Bruenor finished without even looking at the plaque. He nodded in recognition to Catti-brie's questioning glance.

"Free the bow, boy," he told Wulfgar. "Suren it might be put to a better use than this."

Wulfgar had already discerned the structure of the pile and started lifting away specific blocks at once. Soon Catti-brie was able to wiggle the longbow free, but she saw something else beyond its nook in the pile and asked Wulfgar to keep digging.

While the muscled barbarian pushed aside more stones, the others marveled at the beauty of the bow. Its wood hadn't even been scratched by the stones and the deep finish of its polish returned with a single brush of the hand. Catti-brie strung it easily and held it up, feeling its solid and even draw.

Taulmaril the Heartseeker: A gift from Lady Anariel to Clan Battlehammer, this beautifully crafted +3 force keen elven bow is made of polished wood. Though highly decorated, elf crafters also gave the bow metal inlays which gives the wielder the option to fend off attacks without sacrificing rate of fire and accuracy.

Taulmaril has a +3 enhancement and arrows launched from it emit a powerful jolt of magical force and deal an additional 1d6 points of force damage on a successful hit. If the arrow successfully hits a target protected by a force effect, such as a shield spell or bracers of armor, it might dispel the force effect in addition to damaging the target. Make a dispel check (1d20+10) against the effect (DC 11 + caster level). If the check succeeds, the force effect is dispelled (if a spell) or suppressed for 1d4 rounds (if a magic item). Incorporeal creatures get no miss chance against force weapons.

If used as an offensive weapon, Taulmaril acts as two-handed melee weapon that deals 1d6 points of bludgeoning damage. The wielder does not get any masterwork or enhancement bonuses when using the bow to attack in melee.

Quiver of Anariel: Quivers of Anariel appear to be typical arrow containers capable of holding a score of arrows. However, the quivers automatically replenish themselves with standard or magical arrows, such that they are always full. This particular quiver creates arrows made of alchemical silver.

Once an arrow it taken from the quiver, it must be used within 1 round or it vanishes.
